Game - how to set up 'Scratch card'
What a Scratch Card/Item campaign can be used for
Users interact with a digital scratch card by “scratching” the surface to reveal a prize or message.
The difference between Scratch Card and Scratch Item is what’s being scratched:
- Scratch Card: uses a full background image
- Scratch Item: is for individual elements like products, making setup simpler
Setting Up the Campaign
- Open the campaign and select the Scratch Card or Scratch Item game.
- Add your design and configure the settings.
- We recommend starting with an existing design kit, then adding your prizes and customizing the visual layout of the game.
Settings
- In Settings, define the number of cards users need to scratch to reveal the prize, product, or message underneath.
- You can choose up to 9 cards in total and set how many should appear per row.
- Set the percentage of the surface that must be scratched to reveal the underlying prize.
- Keep in mind: 100% may discourage users from completing the action, especially with large images.
Prizes
- Add the icons and prize information so the prize appears when scratching the surface, then press Save.
- Remaining icons will appear as No prize.
- Adjust the quantity of icons underneath the surface as needed.
Icons & Customization
Scratch Coin / Tool: You can change the image of the coin used to scratch the surface. This can be your logo, a product, or any branded element.
- Visual Enhancements: Add a shadow to the coin or object to improve visual appeal.
Customizing Individual Cards: Click into each card to adjust size and positioning settings.
The icon beneath the card/item:
Replace the card image with a product, picture, or element that fits your campaign's style.
Important (when using an item and not a full background image): Make sure to upload the card image and the background so everything displays correctly:
Adjust sizing and positioning of the icon beneath the card. Use the 'Show' toogle to preview the placement of it:
It could look like this, where the icon is inside the image itself:
Standard Campaign Setup
Follow the standard campaign setup steps to ensure everything works correctly:
- Test the full flow: Once the campaign is set up and live, run a complete test to confirm all data and functionality work.
- Check prize setup: Ensure each prize is configured correctly:
- Set the winner chance
- Add all relevant prize information
- Design the prize page to match your campaign
- Winner emails (if included in your package/license): Make sure the email is designed and active.
Important:
- If you make any changes to prize information at any level, always:
- Double-check the prize is still attached to the game via the dropdown menu
- Confirm that all changes appear on the prize page and in the winner email
- Update the campaign and run a full live test to ensure everything works as expected
