What’s New in Scratcher 4.0 (and Why We Updated It)

We’ve given the Scratcher platform a facelift based on valuable user feedback. This is not a new platform—everything you know is still here. We’ve focused on improving the overall experience by refining the UX, updating wording (with more improvements to come), and creating a more intuitive and connected flow. The goal is to make it easier to navigate, build campaigns, and combine features through a smoother step-by-step experience.

Editor Improvements

So, we have categorised the flow in the following way and will go each area, one-by-one:

  1. Layout
  2. Campaign Flow
  3. Configure

Layout

The layout includes your Design Kits, which we always recommend using, as they make it much easier to design your campaigns with consistent fonts, colors, and background images. We recommend setting up your brand guidelines in advance—even if you work with multiple color variations—so you can easily apply them across campaigns.

The Design Kit

The Design Kit has the same functionality as before, allowing you to define background images for mobile and desktop, add your logo, and set link styling—now with an updated interface and improved wording for a more intuitive and flexible experience.

What’s new:

You can now choose to edit the current Design Kit used for this campaign or click “Browse” to view your most recently created or used Design Kits for easier access and reuse.

Under Text, you can define your general color code. Then go to Typography and choose between P (Paragraph), H1 (Heading 1), H2 (Heading 2), H3 (Heading 3), or H4 (Heading 4). For each style, click to edit it. In the top right corner, select “Add font” to upload your font. Then we have Button, which gives you the same options for using an existing font or uploading your own. You can define the font size and set the colors for both the button and the text inside it.

Campaign Flow

The campaign flow remains the same as before, but it has now been moved to the left side of the editor. This gives you a clearer overview of each step in the flow, with page names such as Pre-registration, Intro, Form etc.

A new feature is the Reorder function, which allows you to move pages within the flow. Click and hold the four-line “burger” handle, drag the page up or down to the desired position, and then click Done reordering once you’re finished.

You can still enter each section as before or add a new page using + Add page, with all the same page options available.

Configure

Is completely new area in the editor. This contains the former 'Add-ons' section, where you can enter:

  1. Connect
  2. Emails (if you have access in terms of your license)
  3. Settings

Connect

In this section, you can add integrations, tracking, webhooks, and the Products feature (only needed if your campaign includes Product Recommendation).

Emails

The email setup works the same as before, but you now enter the email editor by clicking into the section. To return to the campaign flow, click “Back to campaign” in the bottom left corner.

Settings

This section includes Embed & URL (campaign script and iframe setup) and security (used if you detect misuse or abuse of the system).

What’s new:

Participation:

  1. Limit participation across languages (e.g. prevent users from accessing the same campaign in different languages such as German)
  2. Limit maximum participants by setting a cap and defining the page shown once the limit is reached![

Messages:

System popup messages are now customizable. For example, users attempting to rejoin a one-time campaign can be shown an editable message. A green indicator (circle) means the selected message will be used based on your campaign settings.

To customize the pop-up message, use the button at the bottom.

Then you get two possibilities:

  1. Styles

You can also add a background, such as a color, image, or video. You can also customize the background with color, size, alignment, shape, and spacing to do the design.

  1. Settings

In the settings, you can choose whether it should appear as a normal page or a pop-up, and you can also enable a close button.![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/7/d/d/f/7ddf9e0ac73adc00/screenshot-2026-04-13-at-15095_ccaef1.png)

Localization:

System-generated popup messages can be customized. For example, if a user is only allowed to participate once and tries again, a popup will show a message explaining this. You can edit these messages to fit your own wording.
