How Do I Design Emails (Prizes + Event Emails)

How to set up emails in Scratcher Connect

In step 3 of the campaign overview, go to Connect, where you can configure both Prize emails and Event emails directly within your campaign flow.

1. Go to the campaign flow

Start by opening your campaign flow. From there, go to Options (step 3 in the overview). Next:

  • Go to Connect
  • Then select Emails

2. Choose your email type

Inside the email section, you will see different options:

Prize emails

Prize emails are connected to rewards in your campaign. You can select a prize from a dropdown list (based on prizes you’ve already created in the game). To create one:

  • Select a prize email
  • Click Add email

You will then be able to choose from predefined templates:

  • Discount code
  • Barcode
  • Manual draw
  • Wallet
  • Prize redemption

Most commonly used templates are:

  • Manual draw
  • Discount code
  • Prize redemption

You can choose whichever fits your campaign setup.

3. Customize your email

All emails can be fully customized. You can:

  • Edit text and fonts
  • Remove or move elements
  • Adjust layout and content freely

It works like a standard campaign editor, meaning you have full flexibility.

⚠️ Important: Always make sure to clearly explain how the user receives their prize (e.g., discount code, manual draw, etc.). For discount codes, the code will automatically be pulled from your prize setup configuration. If you are unsure, you can always contact your Scratcher representative.

4. Save as template (optional)

If you want to reuse an email design:

  • Go to the email name area
  • Click the three dots
  • Select Save as template
  • Give it a name

It will then be available for future campaigns. You can also use the design kit or existing templates for faster setup.

5. Edit email settings

When editing the email, you will see additional settings:

  • Email name: Usually predefined based on the prize (cannot be changed, it is only shown internally)
  • Subject line: Required and visible to the recipient
  • Pre-header: Optional preview text shown in inbox

A subject is added

The email is switched to active mode)

6. Sending logic (Prize emails)

Prize emails are automatically sent depending on campaign logic, for example:

  • When a user wins a prize
  • Based on the campaign setup rules

7. Event emails

Event emails are used for broader communication flows. You can choose templates such as:

  • Welcome email
  • Reminder
  • Double opt-in
  • Double opt-in confirmation
  • No prize emails
  • Special offers
  • Campaign emails
  • Blank email

Commonly used:

  • Double opt-in
  • Reminder
  • Special offers

8. Event email setup

When creating an event email, you must define:

Sending type:
  • Date-based: Sent on a specific date
  • Event-based: Sent based on user actions
  • Recurring: Sent repeatedly (daily/weekly at a set time)

Event triggers (examples):
  • When a new lead is created
  • When a lead participates in a campaign
  • When a lead participates for the first time
  • When a lead wins a prize
  • When a lead does not win a prize
  • When double opt-in is required
  • When subscription is confirmed
  • When 2FA is required (if applicable)

9. Final setup

Once everything is configured:

  • Make sure the email is activated
  • Double-check subject line and trigger conditions
  • Confirm template and content setup
