What a Calculator Campaign Can Be Used For

The Calculator format in Scratcher allows you to create interactive tools where users can input values and receive calculated results instantly. It is ideal for: Price estimations, Savings calculations, Size calculations, Product recommendations, Cost breakdowns, and Custom interactive tools.

How the Calculator Works

When working with the calculator in Scratcher, you need to go into the Game section and open Content.
Inside the Content section, you will typically find three dropdowns (sometimes four, depending on the setup). These are:

  • Questions
  • Answers
  • Inputs
  • Results

These dropdowns are structured according to the page you are currently working on within the quiz flow.

Questions

The Questions section is typically used for styling elements such as fonts and colors for question headings. These settings apply across the entire quiz flow.

Answers

The Answers section controls the styling of the answer options shown to users throughout the quiz, from start to finish.

Results

The Results section is used to style the actual result pages when using the built-in quiz result page setup.

How to Create a Calculator

Start by adding a Calculator:

  • Create a new campaign or add a new page to an existing campaign
  • Add the Calculator
  • Click on the calculator
  • Select Edit Quiz

Questions

When setting up your inputs:

  • Add a title
  • Add additional information (optional)
  • Select the answer type (e.g. text, image, text form, rating, number, or slider)
  • Add a Default Value
  • Add a Max Value
  • Add a Prefix (optional)
  • Add a Suffix (optional)
  • Add an Interval

You can then define how the numeric input should behave.

Results

Set up the different result outputs:

  • Add result pages for the different outcomes
  • Use dynamic tags to display calculated values

💡 Example:Your monthly water usage of {CALCULATOR_RESULT_2} liters will cost you {CALCULATOR_RESULT_4} per month

Calculations

To generate the correct results, you need to define your calculations:

  • Add a name for the calculation
  • Assign a dynamic tag
  • Build the calculation logic

You can:

  • Drag your question inputs into the calculation
  • Combine them using operators (divide, multiply, add, subtract)
  • Use fixed numbers in your formulas
  • Use other calculations as part of a new calculation
