Tap It – Campaign Setup Guide

What a Tap It Game Can Be Used For

A Tap It Game is an interactive, fast-paced game where users tap appearing elements as quickly as possible. The experience is designed to drive high engagement through simple, reaction-based gameplay. It is ideal for:

  • Gamified marketing campaigns
  • Engagement and awareness activations
  • Product or brand interaction experiences
  • Revealing something or gaining something from the tap it experience

Content & Game Setup

In this game, you can configure key elements via the Content section.

Images

Under Images, you can define the visuals shown throughout the game.

  • There are three default images available (you can add more through settings - see Number of images.
  • These represent the sequence shown as the user clicks through the game
  • You can replace these with your own custom images

You also have the option to:

  • Adjust image width to control size
  • Add shadow effects and other styling

Game Flow & Interaction

Start Settings

You can define how the game starts:

  • Automatically after a set number of seconds
  • Via a start button

Number of Images

If you want more than the default three images:

  • You can increase the number of images in the settings

Next Image Click Interval
You can define how quickly users move between images.

  • Example: If set to 10, it means it takes 10 seconds (or clicks, depending on setup) before the next image is shown

This controls the pacing of the experience.

Timer & Game Logic

You can configure:

  • Whether the timer counts down or up
  • How long the game runs
  • What determines progression or completion

For example:

  • Reaching a certain number of points
  • Completing within a time limit

You can enable a countdown before the game starts. This helps:

  • Prepare the user
  • Create a smoother game start

There are default settings available, which can be adjusted as needed.

Styling

As with other games, you can customise:

  • Visual elements
  • Layout
  • Design components

Outcome (Important)

You should define what the user receives at the end of the game.
This could be:

  • A discount code
  • A reward
  • Or another type of incentive

Make sure the outcome aligns with the purpose of the campaign.

Game Settings

In the left-hand menu under Settings, you will find advanced configuration options.

Start Game Settings

You can define:

  • How the game starts (default or customised start behaviour)
  • Countdown before the game begins

You can also replace default text such as:

  • “Ready – Set – Go”

with localised versions like:

  • “Klar – Parat – Start”

Prize & Outcome Logic (Important)

It is essential to define clear outcomes based on user interaction and timing. In this game, the experience is driven by how quickly users click through the images, with the final result being shown once the timer ends and the last image is reached. You must always include:

  • A No Prize outcome
  • A Prize outcome

If users do not meet the required criteria, they should see a no-prize result page. If they do meet the criteria, they should see a prize or success result page.
However, it is important to note that this game type is less suited for strict performance-based rewards, as users can quickly progress through the flow. Because of this, it is often more appropriate to use it as a draw-based mechanic, where users enter for a chance to win rather than receiving an instant guaranteed prize.

If you are unsure how to structure the prize setup for this type of game, we recommend reaching out for guidance to ensure the best possible outcome.
