How to Prepare Your Game for a Convention

Preparing Your Campaign for a Convention

Before launching a campaign at a convention, there are several important steps to ensure everything runs smoothly on-site. Proper setup helps guarantee a stable user experience, correct data collection, and seamless participation throughout the event.

1. Build and Publish Your Campaign

The first step is to:

  • Build your campaign in the platform
  • Publish it when ready

Once live, it is essential to run a full test to ensure everything is functioning correctly.

Key test focus:
  • Verify that the form correctly receives and stores all submitted fields
  • Confirm that lead data is being collected as expected
  • Check the full user flow from start to finish

2. Device & Display Setup

Since campaigns are often used on tablets at conventions, it is important to ensure:

  • The campaign scales correctly on tablet devices
  • The layout is fully responsive and readable
  • The screen is properly locked to prevent users from leaving the experience or restarting incorrectly

This helps maintain a consistent and controlled user flow during high-traffic event usage.

3. Form Data & Auto-Save Settings

To ensure clean data collection between participants, it is important to disable auto-saving of form fields.

How to do it:
  • Go to Form Settings
  • Locate Auto-save form fields
  • Toggle this setting OFF

This ensures that no previous participant data is carried over to the next user, keeping all submissions clean and individual.

4. Auto Reset / Return to Start Screen

For event environments, it is highly recommended to enable an automatic reset function back to the front page of the campaign. This setting ensures that:

  • The campaign automatically returns to the start screen after a short period of inactivity (e.g. a few seconds)
  • The next participant always starts from a clean state

This improves usability and reduces manual intervention during busy event periods.

Final Checklist Before Going Live

Before your convention campaign goes live, make sure to:

  • Publish and fully test the campaign
  • Confirm form submissions are working correctly
  • Validate tablet scaling and screen behaviour
  • Disable auto-save for form fields
  • Enable automatic reset to start screen
