Participation Limits & Campaign Messages

Participation Limits & Campaign Messages in Scratcher

Where to Find Participation Settings

Participation settings are managed in the campaign editor under:

  • Configure (Step 3 in the editor)
  • Then go to Settings
  • At the top, you will find the Participation section

This is where you can control how users interact with your campaign and how often they can participate.

Participation Limits

Inside the Participation section, you can define how many times a user is allowed to access or participate in a campaign.

Participation Limit

You can choose between:

  • Once – user can only participate once
  • Daily – user can participate once per day
  • Weekly – user can participate once per week
  • Monthly – user can participate once per month
  • Infinity – unlimited participation

Participation Across Languages

You can also restrict participation across different languages.

This means:

  • If a user participates in one language version (e.g. Danish), they cannot participate again in another language version (e.g. English or German)

Max Participation Limit

You can set a maximum number of total participations for a campaign.

For example:

  • Set a limit of 1000 participations total
  • After reaching this limit, the campaign will no longer accept new users

If this option is enabled, you must also define what happens when the limit is reached.

Limit Reached Page

When the maximum participation limit is reached, you must choose a fallback page.

This page is shown to users when:

  • The campaign is full
  • No more entries are allowed

Example message:

  • “Sorry, this campaign is no longer available.”

Auto Login

The Auto Login feature allows returning users to re-enter the campaign more easily.

If a user has already participated before:

  • They can be redirected directly into the campaign flow
  • This can bypass parts of the entry process (such as forms)

Campaign Messages (Pop-up Messages)

Further down in the same settings area, you will find Messages.

These are system-generated pop-up messages used throughout the campaign flow.

Message Overview
  • Some messages are already active (shown in green)
  • Others are inactive by default (shown in grey)

Active messages are triggered automatically when users reach specific states in the campaign (e.g. errors or limits).

You can edit these messages to customize:

  • Text content
  • Tone of voice
  • User instructions

Pop-up Message Editor

At the bottom, you will find:

  • Edit Pop-up Messages Element

This allows you to fully customize the appearance of pop-up messages.

You can configure:
  • Background color or background image
  • Video background (optional)
  • Backdrop overlay
  • Size and layout
  • Alignment
  • Border, shape, and spacing (gap)
  • Close button visibility
  • Fullscreen mode (pop-up fills entire screen)

This gives full control over how system messages are displayed to users.

Refresh Page Add-on

Under Browse Add-ons, you will find an option called Refresh Page.

This feature is used to automatically redirect users after completing a campaign.

How it works:
  • After a user finishes the experience
  • The page refreshes or redirects after a set number of seconds
  • The user is sent back to a defined page (e.g. homepage or start flow)

This is especially useful for:

  • Events or kiosks (e.g. conventions)
  • High-traffic setups
  • Quick reset of the campaign experience

You can configure:

  • Whether the feature is enabled
  • The number of seconds before redirect
